"RE: Fay....Part 1......Does the Roman Catholic Church deny Jesus as God?"

Fay,

http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2018/fay121-17.htm

Please excuse me for taking exception to your post comments two weeks in a row but you aroused a very soar spot / subject with me.......that being the Catholic Church. And by your large number of posts each week (very interesting posts) you make yourself a larger target (so to speak) for critique. ☺

In your post titled, “What If”... you speculated or promoted two theories that.....

A) Islam is Mystery Babylon and also is the Anti-Christ end times religion

.......and.......

B) That the Roman Catholic Church does not deny Jesus is God

I have shared before on Doves that I was a dyed in the wool / rabid Catholic for over forty years until the mid 90's when I was exposed to the truth of that religion / cult by someone I trusted. If it hadn't been someone I trusted I probably would not be writing this today and would still be in the bondage of that terrible system of beliefs. But I did escape..... with God's help..... and have spent hundreds of hours researching the RCC and all of it's Luciferian half truths and their flat out anti-biblical falsehoods.

So, lets start with B) from above …....That the Roman Catholic Church doesn't deny Jesus is God. Taken on face value that would be correct....but....

The first thing you have to realize is that there are two Jesus's. There is the one Christians like you and I believe in.....the Jesus of the bible. And then there is the Jesus that the Catholics believe in which is a very different Jesus from the biblical Jesus.

Here are some examples of the two Jesus's that I will copy from texts provided by a wonderful ministry in Texas run by Mike Gendron called “Proclaiming the Gospel”. Mike (also an ex-Catholic) with his ministry has done an amazing job of sharing the true gospel to Catholics in an effort to free them from the anti-biblical bondage that the Catholic Church subjects them too.

So, here are examples of the two Jesus's

Jesus (God) as Savior

Bible: “He saved us, not because of any righteous deeds we had done, but because of His mercy” (Titus 3:5)

RCC: teaches that by His death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has “opened” heaven to us (1026). Each person attains his own salvation by grace and good works (1477)

Jesus (God), Head of the Church

Bible: “He has put all things under Christ's feet and made Him, thus exalted, head of the church” (Ephesians 1:22-23)

RCC: teaches that the Pope, by reason of his office as Vicar of Christ, and as pastor of the entire church, has full, supreme and universal power over the whole church, a power which he can always exercise unhindered (882). He exercises infallibility when “he proclaims by a definitive act a doctrine pertaining to faith or morals”. (891)

Jesus (God) our Advocate and only Mediator

Bible: “God is one, one also is the mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5, 1 John 2:1)

RCC: teaches that Mary “did not lay aside her saving office but by her manifold intercession continues to bring us the gifts of eternal salvation. She “is ….Advocate...and Mediatrix” (969)

Jesus (God) expiates our sin

Bible: “Through his blood, God made him the means of expiation for all who believe” (Romans 3:25)

RCC: teaches that sins are expiated in purgatory through “a cleansing fire” and that we “must strive to accept this temporal punishment of sin as a grace” (1030,31; 1472-75)

Jesus's (God's) shed blood is the only remission of sin

Bible: “Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness” (Hebrews 9:22)

Since these sins have been forgiven, there is no further offering for sin” (Hebrews 10:18)

RCC: teaches “an indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which......may be applied to the living or the dead” (1471)

Jesus (God) finished the work of redemption

Bible: “By one offering He has forever perfected those who are being sanctified” (Hebrews 10:14) “Unlike the other high priests, He doe not need to offer daily sacrifices” (Hebrews 7:27-28)

RCC: denies it is finished. “The sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are one single sacrifice....the same Christ who offered Himself once in a bloody manor on the altar of the cross is contained and offered in an un-bloody manor” (1367) “Every time this mystery is celebrated the work of our redemption is carried on (1405) The sacrifice is “offered in reparation for the sins of the living and the dead” (1414)

Jesus (God) His life, His death and resurrection provided the only way to be saved

Bible: “There is no salvation in anyone else, for there is no other name in the whole world given to men by which we are able to be saved” (Acts 4:12)

RCC: denies this by claiming the Catholic Church “is necessary for salvation” (846) and claiming “the plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims” (841)

So, you can see by these examples (and there are more) that the Roman Catholic Church does not worship Jesus as God in the same context as others in the Christian community do.

Fay, I will discuss / explore the second part concerning Mystery Babylon, Islam and the Antichrist in a second post to you titled .....Who is Mystery Babylon?
