Like most
of you, I suspect, I was brought up with a weekly Sunday visit
to "Sunday School". It was always interesting and fun and gave
us an appreciation of Lord Jesus. However, what was never
explained was why Jesus' intervention was necessary. What sin
was. Why He had to die etc. My entire education, scripture wise,
was based on the baby, Jesus. All our end-of-year plays revolved
around the Magi and the babe in the Manger. Which is why...years
later, I found myself unable to argue with the Jehovah's
Witnesses who had managed a grip hold on my sister. I couldn't
argue because I had zip Bible knowledge. However, the year that
I studied with the JW's, opened my eyes to scripture proper. All
through the "study", I had the strong feeling that something was
not right. They focused on idiotic stuff like Jesus was "a god"
and literally changed their Bible to reflect that. The JW Bible
reads, in John 1:1 that....In the beginning was the Word and the
Word was with God and the Word was "a god". Diminishing Jesus to
lower case "god". They justify this by quoting the scripture
John 10:34 where Jesus asked if it wasn't written in the Law, "I
have said you are gods?". This is enough for them (JW's). And
it's enough for a total Bible illiterate to have an AHA moment.
The second scripture they quote (in order to justify their
belief that when you die...you die. Until the Day of Judgement)
in order to get you to believe that you, as a human being, have
no soul or spirit apart from your body is because they
bastardize 1 Corinthians 15:43-44. They shorten it to say,
"Where there is a natural body, there is a spiritual body". Then
they claim this means that, where there is a human body on
earth, there is an angelic spiritual body (non related to you-
in heaven). So - you are a human on earth and in heaven there
are spiritual angels. Angels do not have a physical body - much
as a physical body, does not have a spirit. The two are separate
entities. I know.... it's gob smacking Biblical twisting. 1
Corinthians 15:43-44 actually reads ( talking about the human
being) "It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is
sown in weakness,; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural
body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body,
there is also a spiritual body".
This
clearly teaches us we have both. The JW's also deny that Lord
Jesus was raised in the flesh. They claim that Jesus, being a
special case, you understand, was raised a spiritual body. Which
is why the disciples did not recognise Him, at first. I could
bang on and on, but the prime reason for this post is to
emphasize just how subtle and sneaky these cults are.... luring
in Bible illiterates by the thousands.
You will
enjoy this link from the rapture Ready website: Written to the
Mormon people.( I know... but these wretched cults are all the
same to me. Destructive, misleading and soul destroying). It's a
very clever piece of writing.
