"Clay Cantrell Re: " The Edge ""

Something came to mind about your vision of the precipice that you found yourself on. There is scripture saying that when The Lord Jesus died for sin He descended into the heart of the earth. The following verses may explain why you did not feel fear at the prospect of being "on the edge". You can make your own conclusions. Sounds like you experienced something that you will do, or something that was done in the Spirit, which you have.

Eph. 4 : 8-9

8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men.

9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Lu. 16 : 25- 26

25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence.

Rev. 1 : 18

18 I [am] he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

1 Pe. 3 : 18- 19

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

Col. 2 : 15

15 [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Job 1 : 7

7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Acts 2 : 27

27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The belief is that the Lord descended, took the keys from the devil, then walked across the abyss defying gravity and preached to the  O. T.  saints so they could receive the atonement of the New Covenant.

Mt. 14 : 25-26

25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.

26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
