Brother Alan, please consider the opinion offered by my pastor, Ray Bentley.
It is his contention that, before the Fall, Adam and Eve were covered by the Shekinah,
the glory of God. Their bodies were temples of the Holy Spirit.
[For a sort of sideways illustration, consider that Lyra (see The Golden Compass) and her
people keep their consciences outside their bodies.]
After the Fall, the Shekinah was gone from the bodies of Adam and Eve, and Adam observed himself
as being naked.
May we all be clothed with the Righteousness of Christ:
"I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me
with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom
decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels." Isaiah 61:1

God Is Light. His Children Are The Sons Of Light.
Iā€™m sitting here trying to imagine what Adam was like in before the fall. He walked With God! How could he do that? Exodus 33:20 But He (God) said (to Moses), "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live." The verses below tell us that God is light and we know that Adam was created in the image of God. So what changed after he sinned to make him know he was naked? Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. Did he loose his robe or covering of light?
I guess Iā€™m really trying to do is to comprehend this verse. 1 John 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
Psalm 104:1-2
Praise the LORD, I tell myself;
O LORD my God, how great You are!
You are robed with honor and with majesty;
2 You are dressed in a robe of light.
You stretch out the starry curtain of the heavens;
1 Timothy 6:14 ā€¦that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ's appearing, 15 which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. John 12:35 Then Jesus said to them, "A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going. 36 While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light."
1 Thessalonians 5:5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
Ephesians 5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9(for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
1 John 1:5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Daniel 2:22 He (God) reveals deep and secret things;
He knows what is in the darkness,
And light dwells with Him.
