This is in reply to your question in your 12/10 post at the last supper (fivedoves.com) about Judas partaking of the bread and the wine at the Last Supper and your asking the following:
Could that have been the most extreme example of:
I Corinthians 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
Yes, it could be an extreme example because Judas was guilty of betraying Jesus Christ, the Son of God, whose innocent blood would be shed on the cross. The shedding of innocent blood is one of the 7 abominations in the eyes of the Lord according to Proverbs 6:16-19. Even Judas admitted that he betrayed innocent blood according to the Bible verses below:
"3 Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus1was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, 4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They ssaid, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.” 5 And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed, and he went and hanged himself. 6 But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money.” 7 So they took counsel and bought with them the potter’s field as a burial place for strangers. 8 Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day."
Some other extreme examples would be of Catholics who are part of the mafia and take communion on Sundays but have people murdered, but then there is person who calls himself a Christian because they go to church every Sunday and take communion and are an abortionist.
