However, the opposite thought, where people could think that they have a license to sin, is abominable.Writers early in the church age considered that the Nicolaitains were antinomian.Jesus hates their doctrine. If someone believes that now that they are saved, they are free to sin however they want, do they even know Jesus? That would be turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and completely against the nature of the Lord.
Returning to the subject of "good enough to go", if we cannot merit ourselves eternal life by our own worthiness, can we be worthy of anything?
Acts 5:41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.(and related to that:)II Thessalonians 1:5 Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
Colossians 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;(a walk worthy of the Lord who is truly worthy)
Revelation 3:4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.(are they really worthy because of their innate goodness and works?)(or is their worthiness in any way due to the blood of Jesus and his righteousness imputed to them?)(or did they, by the sheer power of their own will and goodness, not defile their garments?)(or were they only able to do that by the power of the Holy Ghost, and not by having an innate worthy character?)
In Revelation chapters 4 and 5, they are not saying, "We are worthy", nor, "We were worthy", nor about others, "They are worthy", but only:
(in chapter 4:)Revelation 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
(in chapter 5:)Revelation 5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

How many Christians do you figure are currently "worthy" to go in the blessed hope?
Do you personally know any Christian "worthy to go"?
I have never met any Christian that is "good enough to go".
Is it not that, only the Lamb is worthy and only the Lamb is good?
And by believing in him we have the imputed righteousness of Christ?
Is that not the only way to be saved and the only way to go in the blessed hope?
Is it not true that no person can merit eternal life, and no person can merit the blessed hope.
