It suddenly occurred to me that we can look at this scripture differently. While they are saying peace and safety, sudden destruction will come upon them.

What are the words we use at Christmas time? Joy to the World, the LORD has come. Let earth receive her King. Peace and security for all mankind etc.

I may be grasping at straw here - but, what if I'm not? It's worth deeper thought.
