How much of the current wickedness in the world can laid at our feet?Is the picture of that kind of there, looking at the last three churches, that were written to in Revelation 3?Does the cold church, Sardis, stop going for the LORD, because they're dead, and the world around them slips deeper into darkness?
Does the hot church, Philadelphia, keep going for the LORD, and there is still some light for the world, with them around?
But with the lukewarm church, Laodicea, is it possible that they don't even know and don't even care, what is happening to them or the world?
So, then, considering:
Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
And:
II Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Has our light, for the most part, grown dim, or even gone out?Do we not bother to humble ourselves, and repent? If so, is that perhaps why the LORD has not been healing our land? So, then is much of the wickedness going on, somehow because we have failed miserably?
