Hope Jimmy D. Brown has continued in ministry & writing over the years. I am not sure where to locate him now.

         HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS !

On a day when everyone thinks of Santa Claus

And his "Ho Ho Ho" rings loud and true,

I'm reminded it's not about Santa, but the Savior--

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

The ornaments are all hung upon the pretty tree

With the old hand-me-downs and the ones brand new

But nothing compared to the One who hung on the Cross

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

The festive lights shine brightly for everyone to see

And the colors so vibrant-- red, green, yellow, and blue

All fade in comparison to the Light of the World

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

The candy canes are handed out to friends

And their stripes give forth a bold clue

By His blood-red stripes we are healed

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

The meal we share with meats and sweets

And a table filled afresh and anew

Point us to the Bread of Life

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

The giving of gifts to those we love and cherish

And kindness shown to even strangers too

Reminds us of the greatest Gift given to all

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

This season we celebrate gets clouded with stuff,

It's good to remember the message that's true

CHRISTmas is all about CHRIST,

Happy Birthday, Jesus, to You!

Have a "Wonderful DAY in Christ"
