Perry Stone Clarification on EMP & The Rapture  

To all Doves, 

Since there has been some confusion on understanding various statements and beliefs regarding the EMP/Rapture issue, I need to clarify exactly what Perry Stone is saying about an EMP attack as it relates specifically to the Rapture event. He is NOT saying that an EMP nuke will be launched at the same time as the Rapture (although this very well could happen as in the "Sudden Destruction" scenario.) What he is saying is that the explosive power of the resurrection ITSELF could create the SAME effect worldwide as that of a localized nuclear detonation! This concept is now being offered to explain the likeness on the ‘Shroud of Turin’...that is the image was possibly created by a "burst of energy and a supernatural explosion of light and power" caused by the resurrection of Jesus Christ Himself! So therefore, Perry believes that perhaps when the rapture takes place, the change in our mortal bodies making them immortal and incorruptible, immediately preceded by the supernatural power of the resurrection of the dead, may cause an explosion and burst of energy ITSELF so great that it will create an EMP effect around the world! Hence the scripture: "That day will be a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness." Zephaniah 1:15…This means ultimately that the darkness spoken of here could be BOTH literal AND spiritual!
