A
powerful
M6.1 quake has now struck in the northern Kuril
Islands, south of
Kamchatka, Russia in the exact specified forecast target
region I had named and have been watching for a very large
quake to strike. [Remember, the experts say it is
"impossible" to predict earthquakes. Just another
example of the previous 11,000+ lucky guesses I've had in
the past 6 years.]

The
good thing is that this region is sparsely populated. So, do
we keep watching for up to a
M9.0 quake or is this the extent of the strike? Time
will tell.
There
are a few possibilities:
1)
This
M6.1 quake is all that will occur (best case scenario)
2)
This
M6.1 quake is a "foreshock" for something much larger
to strike in the next few hours.
3)
This
M6.1 quake will push seismic energy on around the bend
of the plate and be the "trigger" for a larger quake up to
M9.0 to strike in the Aleutians of Alaska. I do
know that whatever the case, seismic energy will flow toward
the
Aleutians, but whether we get something larger remains
to be seen.
