Based
on all the major quakes happening across the world in the past
few days, I am issuing a new
WARNING
for the west coast of the
U.S. for a major earthquake in the next 7-12 days.
While
difficult to pin down an exact epicenter, I am now watching
from
Monterey Bay to Los Angeles (central to
southern California) as the area most likely to be hit
with a
M6.6-7.1
quake.
Ridgecrest is also a possibility. But the entire west
coast of the U.S. should be on
ALERT
for a potential very large quake.
Mexico is a secondary possibility.
We've
seen two
M8.0+
quakes plus multiple
M7.0+
quakes
strike the world in the past two weeks. This is unprecedented
to see in multiple regions of the world.
We
could see a
M9.0+
quake strike on the
Ring of Fire (Aleutian Islands of Alaska, Kamchatka,
Russia, Kuril Islands
are a possible target as well as the Pacific Northwest),
so stay on ALERT! I am NOT issuing a specific
WARNING for a M9.0 quake, but a WATCH
for the possibility.
If
a
M9.0 range quake strikes off coast, there will be a
major tsunami
affecting
all of the
Pacific, including Hawaii and the west coast of
the U.S.
