M7.1 quake has struck off the southern coast of the Philippines,
about 40 miles southeast of
Mati City. A TSUNAMI THREAT ALERT was issued
for much of the Pacific,
but was cancelled for the west coast of the U.S. The
Aleutians, Alaska Peninsula, Hawaii,
and the coasts of Central America remain under
the threat for possible hazardous tsunami waves up to a
meter above high tide levels.
