"RESPONSE TO Greg Alston//DANIEL 9"

Greg, if you read the Context of Daniel chapter 9 if will help you to understand that the Entire Prophecy is about ''Messiah the Prince''.

To say that the Hebrew changes the subject to ''messiah the anti-christ'' is frankly ridiculous.

The anti-christ has nothing to do with the criteria mentioned about what the Messiah would accomplish in Daniel 9. ''To end trangressions..... to complete prophecy....etc.''/

Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.    Now ask yourself.....which one of these is about the anti-christ??????

Read in Isaiah about how the Jews would ''no longer be MY people'' and ''I will be found of a people that did not seek me''.........meaning the Gentiles.

God uses the phrase ''Oh, Assyrian, the Rod of MY ANGER''. These were Gentiles......

The 70th week began when Jesus started His ministry after coming out of the wilderness. He said TODAY THIS IS FULFILLED IN YOUR EARS''.....meaning that exact day! His first sermon!

IT WAS JESUS WHO WAS CRUCIFIED AFTER THE 69TH WEEK AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE 70TH WEEK.....thus there are 3.5 years remaining.

Regarding Daniel 9:26 and the "people of the prince who is to come''.....this is showing that when the Jews killed Jesus, they were no longer his people.

Here is an alternate translation from my Oxford bible...center column... of this section of Daniel 9:

''and the Jews, they shall no longer be his people''!!

AND ''the Prince's future people''.....that is the Messiah's future people will be the ones who destroy the temple.

The sacrifices that continued after the Cross of Jesus were an ''abomination''. How clear!!

The temple was made desolate because of the abominations that made it desolate.....animal sacrifices that continued after the cross.

Jerusalem would be at war ever since.

I personally believe it is close to being offensive to Jesus to insert the anti-christ into a prophecy that is about the Messiah.....the Prince who was to come!
