"Is Daniel's Messianic Prophecy of an "Abomination" On the Temple Mount Just Around the Corner?"

This article has an interesting theory but I don't think that the Muslim Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount is the abomination that Daniel was talking about in Daniel 12:11 which says, '"And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days."

If you read the verses at the bottom of the page, the people in Judea are told to flee into the mountains
when the abomination of desolation is set up.  I don't see the people in Judea fleeing into the mountains yet so the abomination of desolation hasn't been set up on the Temple Mount so far.  If the abomination of desolation that is set up is the image of the beast, the people of Judea would have cause to flee with armies surrounding Jerusalem and to escape worshipping the beast and his image because they would be violated the Lord's commandments found in Exodus 20:3-5, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"  They would also escape being killed for not worshipping the beast according to Rev. 13:15.

Below are the verses about the abomination of desolation being set up and the people in Judea being told to flee into the mountains:

Matthew 24:15-16, "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:"

Mark 13:14, "But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (Let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains:"

Luke 21:20-21 also shows us that Jerusalem will be surrounded by armies at that time as well for these verses say, "And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto."

THE ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION BEING SET UP CAUSING THE PEOPLE IN JUDEA TO FLEE INTO THE MOUNTAINS DOESN'T TAKE PLACE UNTIL THE GREAT TRIBULATION AS DESCRIBED IN THE VERSES BELOW:

Matthew 24:21-22, "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened."

Mark 13:19-20, "For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days."

Luke 21:22, "For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled."
