The Imminent Day of the Lord

(Through crisis to the Day of the Lord!!)

Malachi chapter four is the last chapter in the Old Testament and provides an overview of the (imminent) Day of the Lord.  The chapter starts with an astonoishing prophecy of God's judgment on the wicked and then an equally astonishing prophecy of victory for His saints!!!  I had written an earlier letter on Malachi 4 (23 February 2013  link below).  I have presented Malachi 4 from the NKJV below.

Malachi 4  The Day of the Lord, the Torah and Elijah (February 2013)

That was 8 years ago and clearly not the time!  However, now there are many signs indicating that the Return of the Lord is very near, even at the Door!!  We probably all agree that the culmination is the Lord returning and destroying the Wicked One with the brightness of His Coming (2 Thessalonians 2 verse 8)!!  The pathway through the Day of the Lord will include, in some order, Revival, Times of Refreshing, the Rapture, Regeneration, Restoration for Israel.  Indeed, there is an Avalanche of prophecies in the Bible ready to be unleashed!!

At this time of crisis, with Covid, excessive heat, fires, floods and world changing events like the rapid fall of Afghanistan, we need to take hold of the prophetic as never before!!  Regions of Australia such as Sydney and regional New South Wales are in the midst of a very severe Covid crisisIsrael is still facing Covid challenges.  My hope is that you find encouragement from Malachi 4.

God's judgment on the wicked (NKJV)

“For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven,
And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble.
And the day which is coming shall burn them up,”
Says the Lord of hosts,
“That will leave them neither root nor branch.

Healing and release through the Sun of Righteousness

But to you who fear My name
The
Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With
healing in His wings;
And you shall go out
And grow fat like stall-fed calves.

Trampling the wicked

You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be
ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,
Says the Lord of hosts.

Remembering the Torah

Remember the Law of Moses, My servant,
Which I commanded him in Horeb for all Israel,
With the
statutes and judgments.

The coming of Elijah

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the
great and dreadful day of the Lord.

Reconciling the children to their fathers

And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and
strike the earth with a curse.
