"Deflation/Hyperinflation"

John and Doves,
Financial wisdom is not one of my strong points, so I was wondering if
someone/anyone feels that prices will be going down eventually (deflation)
and would it be best to sell assets before the down turn?

I myself have no investment assets, but friends and relatives of mine own investment property and I hope they sell it off before the downturn. I think they call it having "liquidity"....having money free from any red tape or waiting periods.

Since my friends still have mortgages to pay on their investment property, wouldn't it be to their advantage to sell off their investment at a good price, and then to pay off the investment loan, plus pay off second-mortgage loans and then be free and clear of all debts?

My reasoning comes from two Scripture verses...  "Owe no man anything but the debt of charity".
Romans 13:8
and
"Laying aside every weight"
Hebrews 12:1
( debts are a weighty burden).

I did some research on the web and found that there is a good possibility of deflation for awhile, then followed by galloping
Inflation ( 3rd horseman of the Apocalypse).

( Thanks to Guttenburg, we can print money forever,
that reaps the poverty of inflation.)

If my friends hang on to their assets, they may become liabilities, when they no longer can pay off the investment loans. I want them to avoid that
 trap.

If anyone can shed some light on how to be good stewards of our money, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you
