Over the years I've posted as much information as I could about a particular Old Testament number, 527. This is the age that Jared, the father of Enoch, was when his firstborn, this same Enoch, was "translated", or "taken" in Genesis 5. Though the number isn't specifically mentioned in the text, anyone can easily find that info charted by various sources on the Internet. 

My understanding of the number is that it is one of extreme prophetic significance; a so-called "master number". That's my terminology, not anyone else's.

The New York Times article of August 13, 2015 linked above indicates that the number of Yazidis abducted by the Islamic State in 2014 was: 

5,270

Whether this number is ultimately accurate I cannot know. Still, it's appearance at all, in a respected and worldwide media outlet, seems prophetically significant.
