Yom Kippur is the most solemn day in the Jewish Faith; a time to confess the sins of the Nation ( and for their part in them).

The scapegoat represents our confessed sins being taken into the wilderness, only to be forgotten. They are removed as far away from remembrance as the East is from the West.

We as Christians perceive our sins being blotted out by the Lamb's blood shed on our behalf at Calvary. Revelation 5:8-10.

We owed a debt we couldn't pay;
He paid a debt He didn't owe.
