"How should we then live?"

Hello, John and Doves,

Noah was in the ark for one year.

Today, until evening on 28 August 2014, marks 2 Elul 5774.  Elul is the sixth month of the Jewish year.  The new year begins with the start of the seventh month, Tishrei.

1 Tishrei 5775 commences the Shmita year [Sabbath year—see Leviticus 25] immediately preceding the 70th Jubilee since the children of Israel entered the Promised Land.

We can only assume a starting time [for Daniel’s 70 Jubilees—see Daniel 9:24] of the Jewish year that began in the fall of

1416 BC.  That was when Joshua and Caleb enter the promised land for the very first time during the fall grape harvest, right before the 40 years of wandering.

We say this because history seems to favor the spring of 1375 BC [the Jewish year having started in the fall of 1376 BC] as the year when the Children of Israel conquered Jericho.  It took them 10 years to conquer the land, because it was that long until the 1st Jubilee year, beginning in the fall of 1367 BC—the Jubilee count having started when Joshua and Caleb [representative of true Israel] entered the Promised Land for the first time (along with the 10 faithless spies) forty years earlier.

The Jubilees start after the very first count of 49 years, on the 10th day of the 50th year [which year is also the first year in the count up to the next Jubilee].  This day, 10 Tishrei, is a Jewish Holiday, the Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur. The strict 49 year count [in which the 50th year is also the first year of the next count of 49

years] preserves the Sabbath (Shmita) year rule.  In the Jubilee Year, the land returns to the original owners and slaves are freed.

The Seventy Jubilees—the count having started in the Jewish year which began in the fall of 1416 BC.

"WARNING:  The Rapture & Sudden Destruction—Pentecost 2012!!”]

You see, we are up against the one year mark.

Yom Teruah [Hebrew:  The Day of the Awakening Blast (as of a trumpet)], also known as Rosh Hashanah [Hebrew:  Head of the Year], commences the evening of Wednesday, 24 September 2014.  That day is the beginning of 1 Tishrei 5775—the start of the [70 X 7]th Shmita year since counting began in the fall of 1416 BC—the start of the Jewish year, 2346.

If we take that year, 2346, to be 2½ thousand-year days [roughly speaking], then 3,430 years [=70 X 7 Shmita counts] is approximately 3½ thousand year days.  It is a simple matter to add 2½ to 3½ and get 6 thousand-year days.

Jesus said that unless the time were shortened, no flesh would be saved.  Anyone can see that 6,000 years minus 5776  years equals 224 years.  This is quite a mercy!

Incidentally, and not coincidentally [“Coincidence” is not a Kosher word!], the two witnesses spoken of in the book of Revelation have been witnessing for 3½ days already.

There have always been Jewish and Gentile believers [Remember that some Egyptians converted to the Jewish faith in the book of Exodus.] ever since the Jews left Egypt 3½ days ago [about one year short (it being Elul 5774) of 3,430 years ago].

Seeing that we could be but days from the Rapture [crossed fingers], how should we then live?

It is written:

Proclaim His death until He comes.

23For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

1Cor 11:23-26

Again, it is written,

          Live by the Spirit’s Power

15So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. 17Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do. 18Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. 20And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 5:15-20

The Word shared is our bread.  Sweet fellowship is our wine.

~Blessings,

Mike
