Hello, John and Doves,We may have just about 38 days left, but it is still long enough to do a few things. For those who would like to restructure their goals, may I offer the following for your consideration:Guidelines for writing effective spiritual goals
Use the ‘SMART’ goal model:
S: Specific: desired outcome or results are clearly defined
[1 John 3:2]
M: Measurable: accomplishment of the outcome can be charted
and/or behavioral elements observed.
[Isaiah 28:9-10, Jeremiah 31:33-34]
A Achievable: goal is challenging but realistic
[Philippians 1:6, 2:13]
R Relevant: goal is in line with the LORD's objectives
and direction [Psalm 119:105]
T Time Bound: deadlines are set for accomplishment
[Ephesians 5:16, Hebrews 10:23-25]
Performance goals help team members:
· Know what’s expected of them [Micah 6:8]
· Take responsibility for their own actions [1 Corinthians, entire chapter 13]
· See how their goals support organizational objectives
[Romans, entire chapter 8]
· Direct efforts where they will have the most impact [Ephesians 2:10]
· Find out how they are doing [James 1:22-25]
· Feel that their performance evaluations have an objective basis
[Psalm 119:127-130]
· Receive recognition for their accomplishments
[1 Corinthians 2:9; 2 Thessalonians 3:13]
Of course, if we have to wait longer than 38 days, we may well need to have a viable survival strategy in place.
Who knows how long the lead-in time is for the Great Tribulation? Six and a half months sounds about right. Vaya con dios, y'all.
