If we are to lay any store by the parable of the vineyard owner and the fig tree as a prophetic 'cut-off' point for modern day Israel - May 5th is 9 days from Israel's 75th birthday on May 14th. the number 9 denotes the human gestation period. Suggesting an imminent birth. Luke 13: 6-9 - A man had a fig-tree planted in his vineyard and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any. So he said to the man who took care of the vineyard, "For three years now, I've been coming to look for fruit on this fig-tree and haven't found any. Cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?" "Sir", the man replied, "leave it alone for one more year, and I'll dig around it and fertilise it. If it bears fruit next year, fine! If not, then cut it down".

Three years from Israel's 70th birthday on May 14th, 2018 takes us to 2021. "One more year" takes us through 2022. We are now in the last year before the fig-tree gets cut down.

Fig-trees bear fruit 3-4 years after planting. They fruit in early spring - beginning in May. See the 2nd link below.
