"“take peace from”?"

My brother had written an email to me where he quoted Revelation 6:4.

I wrote back to him, to ask him about what he thought that, “take peace from”, meant, in the light of a few scriptures:

You had quoted the following scripture:

And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”

That is the last time that peace is mentioned in the scriptures.

Is that significant with the way that it is worded, “take peace from the earth”?

It doesn’t say “bring war to the earth”, but to “take peace from”.

What does it mean to take peace from the earth?

Does it have anything to do with the blessed hope, and the church being taken from the earth?

Also, the special earthly ministry of the third person of the Trinity ends at the blessed hope.

The Spirit of the LORD is omnipresent, but his special earthly ministry is from Pentecost to the blessed hope.

Perhaps “take peace from the earth” means something different.

Also, what do you think about that last time peace is mentioned in light of the following scriptures?

(some by comparison, some by contrast, some by type, and some by prophetic significance)

This world is definitely restless!

I can see how a couple of horsemen will ‘ride out’ soon!!!

“And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.”
