"Before we pass over Jordan..."

Hello, John and Doves,

Before we pass over Jordan...

We would do well to re-read Joshua, chapters 1-4.

Especially, we need to remember:
"And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you."
Joshua 3:5

Someday, tomorrow will be here, and it will be too late.

It is written,

“Today, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” Hebrews 4:7

[The writer of Hebrews quoting Psalm 95:8]

The same God that requires us to be holy--because He is holy [Leviticus 20:7, 1 Peter 1:15-16]--also says through His servant, King David,
"Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him."
"Fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing.
"The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing."
Psalm 34:8-10  NIV

In other words,
"The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed."
Psalm 34:18  NLT
