"Pondering..."

2 Kings 2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

Genesis 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Hebrews 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

A thought occurred to me, God took up Elijah into Heaven. Elijah will be coming back during the day of the Lord. Enoch also was take up into heaven. It makes sense to me that God took these two men, so they would not die. Until the time of the Tribulation.

As for Enoch (the book), I've seen several examples in this book that is quoted in the bible. The most obvious of course is Jude 1:14, which is Enoch 1:9.

Jude quotes this book, the early Church fathers quoted this book for the first 4 centuries. Enoch mentioned his book was intended for a "Latter day" generation. Which I firmly believe means us.

Enoch's book fit's perfectly IMHO into what happened during the days of Noah. It's important to note, that the events during Noah's day, would be repeated in our day.

Luke 17:27-29 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

The one thing I know for certain, is these days are upon us. Time is short, and we are blessed to be witnesses to all these events.
Maranatha, and God Bless
