Hey Suzi!

I think what you "sense" prior to earthquakes is absolutely valid.  Not to compare you to my dogs, but to make my point here the comparison is valid.  We used to live in so cal (Camarillo) and just before quakes happened our cocker spaniel would follow us around the house as if not wanting to leave our side.  

I believe some of us have this sense and it appears you clearly do...
