"After a season of fasting and prayer, waiting for the Lord's return..."

Hello, John and Doves,

After a season of fasting and prayer, waiting for the Lord's return, we look to Jesus with our hearts, and we pray as Daniel did.

Having made sure we have restored a right relationship with God, we consider the following:

A Study in 1 John

1 John key verse:

“I have written this to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know you have eternal life.  And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases Him.  And since we know He hears us whenever we make our requests, we also know that He will give us what we ask for.”  1 John 5:13-15

Concept:  Believers have “face” with God through Jesus, God’s Son.

Tanakh (Old Testament) tie-in [from Job’s sixth speech, a response to Bildad]:

“ ‘But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives,

and He will stand upon the earth at last.

And after my body has decayed,

yet in my body I will see God!

I will see Him for myself.

Yes, I will see Him with my own eyes.

I am overwhelmed at the thought!”  Job 19:25-27

Jesus says,

“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father.  So I sacrifice my life for the sheep.”

John 10:14-15

Isaiah tie-in:

        “O Jerusalem, I have posted watchmen on your walls;

they will pray day and night, continually.

Take no rest, all you who pray to the LORD.

Give the LORD no rest until He completes His work,

until He makes Jerusalem the pride of the earth.”  Isaiah 62:6-7
