Daniel 8:11-12

"He even exalted himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place of His sanctuary was cast down. Because of transgression (of Israel), AN ARMY WAS GIVEN OVER TO THE HORN to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and prospered."

 

That is the Gog-Magog Army that is "given over to him".

 

Notice the use of the word "desolation" in the following three Scriptures:

 

Daniel 11:31

"His armed forces (Gog-Magog army) will rise up to desecrate the temple fortress and will abolish the daily sacrifice. Then they will set up the abomination that causes desolation."

 

Luke 21:20

"When you see Jerusalem surrounded by (Gog-Magog) armies, you will know that its desolation (by the Gog-Magog Army) is near."

 

Daniel 12:11

"From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished, and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days."

 

The invasion of the Gog-Magog Army into Israel, in conjunction with the anti-Christ declaring himself to be God, is what breaks the seven-year 'covenant with many' right in the middle of the last seven-years. It happens 1,290 days before the Second Coming of the Lord.

 

The anti-Christ has the invading Gog-Magog Army "given over to him" in the middle of the last seven-years, but AFTER breaking the 'covenant with many' God destroys the Gog-Magog Army in Israel, and then anti-Christ  is given the power and authority of Satan so that he continues for forty-two months MORE until the Second Coming of the Lord.

 

Notice the use of the word "continue" in the following Scripture;

 

Revelation 13:5

"...And he was given authority to CONTINUE for forty-two months."
